About This Role

Role Overview

The Medical Coder ensures accurate translation of diagnoses, treatments, surgeries, investigations, and consultant notes into recognised clinical coding standards such as ICD-10 and CPT. These codes support accurate billing, reporting, and clinical analytics.

This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and the ability to interpret highly technical clinical reports, including operative notes, radiology findings, and pathology results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply ICD-10 and CPT codes correctly.
  • Interpret complex clinical documentation.
  • Support revenue cycle accuracy.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve documentation gaps.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • High accuracy and consistency.
Essential
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent
Preferred
  • Experience in a hospital coding department
